Data Standards Services • Formal registration and documentation of EPA and Exchange Network data standards. • Search and retrieval of data standards and information on DS program implementation. • Official repository and resource for development, registration and management of EPA data standards. • Data Standards Report Card - Self assessment of system, database and Exchange network data flows (e.g., XML documents/schema.) • Detailed DS conformance – data registration and mapping to EPA DS. Supporting Applications: DS Website, READ and EDR.

Data Registration Services (DEDs, DE field names, data comparison and DS conformance tools) Data Element Dictionary (DED) Management - • Formal data registration and documentation. • Repository for EPA Data Element Dictionary. • Search and retrieval for DEDs, data element field names, • Data meaning and concept management. • Data representations (derived data elements, XML tags, etc.) • Data Standards crosswalks and alignment. Code Set Management • Formal code set registration and documentation. • Repository for EPA and partner’s code sets. • Repository for standardized and custom code sets • Search and retrieval code sets • Data translation and validation with code sets • Code set comparison Supporting Applications: Environmental Data Registry, SOR Web site.

Application Inventory Services • Formal registration and documentation of EPA systems, models and datasets. • Repository for official EPA applications inventory. • Search and retrieval for environmental systems, models and datasets. • Content provider for OMB reports (e.g., official EPA applications inventory for reporting to OMB.) • Integration link between multiple OEI reporting requirements (CPIC, security, privacy,EA/ART, E-Authentication, etc.) Supporting Application:Registry of EPA Applications and Databases (READ)

  5. Reusable Component Services (RCS) • Formal registration and documentation of EPA reusable components (XML schema, data standard’s shared schema components, data models, Web services, etc.) • Repository for official EPA reusable components. • Search and retrieval for EPA reusable components . • UDDI for EPA Web services. • RCS Workbench – application to support automated development services and applications using standardized and reusable components. Supporting Application:Reusable Component Registry (e.g., XML Registry???, )
