  2. How to Achieve our Goals • We Need • Short Term Solutions • Long Term Solutions • Immediate Solutions can be implemented • Once developed in our countries these technologies can be transferred down to developing countries • New governing “Think Tank”

  3. Immediate Solution • Forest Preservation • Sequesters Carbon • Can sore more carbon from the atmosphere • The current carbon stored isn’t released • Supports developing countries • Sustains natural resources for locals • Provides a better water quality

  4. Short Term Solution • Transition Stage • Removing Carbon from existing emissions • The technology already exists • Allows us to slowly transition from fossil fuels to new sustainable forms of energy • Doesn’t force us to make an immediate change • When produced on a large scale can sequester atmospheric carbon

  5. Long Term Solution • Global Think Tank • Get the world’s smartest scientist together • Will work to provide more efficient and sustainable energy sources • NEW TECHNOLOGIES • Currently sustainable technologies don’t provide enough energy to meet the demands of our countries • We aren’t sure what new ideas or techniques will be able to do

Efficiency • Needed throughout the process to ensure success • Smart Grids • Will allot power to where it is needed • Doesn’t waste excess power • Transportation • Better public transportation will provide incentive to not use personal cars • Personal Cars need to achieve better gas mileage or switch over a new power source • Efficient Buildings • Buildings currently use the most energy in G-7 countries • Used in the HVAC systems and in lighting • Better insulated walls ensure energy doesn’t leave the building
