Planning • Missoula County has engaged in planning efforts around space needs for county functions for the last decade. • The opportunity to purchase the admin building was the domino that made the planning come to fruition. • In July, 2010 County project staff, A&E Architects, and department heads met to develop program documents outlining functional requirements (e.g., conference rooms, offices, work stations) and anticipated growth in each department.
Planning • Program documents were finalized and used as the foundation for developing schematic designs for newly renovated space. • County project staff have met weekly with A&E Architects and department personnel since November, 2010 to develop schematic designs that accurately reflect operational and functional requirements for each department.
Planning • The space needs initiative is happening concurrently with a number of other county-wide initiatives (e.g., ECMS, CSA, adding the Health Department to the County network, ongoing renovations at the PHC offices, the FY2012 budget). • Please remember that every department is doing their best to accommodate a great deal of change at a variety of operational levels.
