Planning • Missoula County has engaged in planning efforts around space needs for county functions for the last decade. • The opportunity to purchase the admin building was the domino that made the planning come to fruition. • In July, 2010 County project staff, A&E Architects, and department heads met to develop program documents outlining functional requirements (e.g., conference rooms, offices, work stations) and anticipated growth in each department.

  3. Planning • Program documents were finalized and used as the foundation for developing schematic designs for newly renovated space. • County project staff have met weekly with A&E Architects and department personnel since November, 2010 to develop schematic designs that accurately reflect operational and functional requirements for each department.

  4. Planning • The space needs initiative is happening concurrently with a number of other county-wide initiatives (e.g., ECMS, CSA, adding the Health Department to the County network, ongoing renovations at the PHC offices, the FY2012 budget). • Please remember that every department is doing their best to accommodate a great deal of change at a variety of operational levels.

Phasing Plan • Phase 1 – Administration Building • Phase 2 – 1st Floor Annex, East Side 1st Floor Courthouse, Annex Basement, 4th Floor Annex • Phase 3 – 2nd Floor Annex, West Side 1st Floor Courthouse, West Side 2nd Floor Courthouse, Room 374 • Phase 4 – 3rd Floor Annex, 3rd Floor Courthouse • Phase 5 – Final Phase for 4th Floor Annex, Historic Courtroom

  7. Phasing • Phases 2, 3, and 4 are expected to take about 15 months each. • Phase 2 is expected to begin in September, 2011. Jan, 2013 - April, 2014 Phase 3 Sept – Nov, 2015 Phase 5 March - July, 2011 Admin. Bldg Phase 1 May, 2014 - Aug, 2015 Phase 4 Sept, 2011 - Dec, 2012 Phase 2

  8. Phase 1 • Minor renovations to admin building • Administrative functions move from the annex and courthouse to the admin building • Secure warehouse completed at detention center • Records center renovations completed to accommodate records management and public records research area
