  18. March 15, 2002 • A 16 CAR FIELD OF Mississippi Modifieds rolled out for a 15 lap feature with the # 121 Ambulatory Equipment Services car of Michael Blount and the # 1T Trick Race Cars machine of Vic Dolohite up front.  Dolohite and Blount ran neck and neck into turn three on lap one, until the caution  flew for a three car pile up on the backstretch.  A complete restart found Blount again able to pull away while Dolohite and Glendale  Shoemake raced for second.  A push by Shoemake on lap 4 allowed Dolohite and the #69 of Leonard by.  The # 292 Dixie Compressor systems car of Shoemake got into the back of the # 69 that was already in the back of Dolohite causing a chain reaction fiasco on the backstretch involving seven cars.  Shoemake made it interesting on the restart, going after the leader. Momentum carried Shoemake high off the corner , opening the door for Dolohite to take back the position.  Blount cruised to the win followed by  Dolohite and the # 25 car.

  19. 2003 • Raced in the Mississippi Modified class. • Raced at the following locations: • Baton Rouge, Louisiana • Checkered Flag Speedway in Gulfport • Columbus Speedway • Hattiesburg Speedway • Jackson Motor Speedway • Pike County Speedway • Simpson County Motor sports Park • Queen City Speedway in Meridian Ms Mod Series 5th Place Points Finish

  20. Pike County, MS Mod Series Race April 12, 2003  Article by Sue DuRoy • Jay Ladner, Jason Taylor, Michael Blount and Jerry Cassano all took heat wins for modified. On the start of the feature it was Jerry Cassano followed by Jay Ladner. The first yellow of the race flew with a 5 car pile up in one and two. On the restart it was Cassano followed by Jason Taylor. One lap and another 5 car pile up in two. Taylor had steam coming out of his car and went in the pits. This time on the restart it was Jerry Cassano followed by son Chris. Chris got a nose under Jerry a couple times, but Jerry was able to hold him off and went on to score the win. Chris finished second. Brant Tirello third, Gregg Hollingsworth won the second last chance race and started in the rear of the of the 24 car field and finished fourth. Tyndale Dean fifth, Michael Blount sixth, Billy Collett seventh, Greg Freeman eight, Kalif Seller ninth and Doyle Bratton won the second last chance race and finished tenth.

  21. Thirty Mississippi Modifieds rolled into Simpson County Motor sports Park in D'Lo, MS to participate in the second meeting of the CDM Conversions MS Modified Championship Series. Local track regular Toby Hodge surprised the crowd, the field, and I think himself by pulling off the upset with his heat win and the thirty lap Feature victory. "This is the biggest race I've ever won!" said a happy but humble Hodge after the race. • Doyle Bratton, Tony Henry, and Michael Blount were also heat race winners while Blake Oberschmidt and Jay Ladner won their respective Consi Races. • At the start of the Feature Toby Hodge led Doyle Bratton, Tony Henry, and Michael Blount into the first turns. Bratton slid high in the corner and let Henry take over second and Mark Herbert eased into third. Blount gets back down on the track in fourth. Lap three found Blount trying Herbert for the third position but going low didn't work. • In lap five Henry gives Hodge a shot and pulls up to the halfway point of Hodge's car, but Hodge felt the heat and motored back into the lead. Without a second solid groove passing was a chancy thing. • Herbert's car got loose coming out of turn two of lap twelve and before he can straighten up Blount nudged him and a thirteen car pile-up ensues. The green came back on at lap sixteen and Hodge taught a clinic on how to handle a dry-slick track. • Henry stayed close behind and kept Hodge honest but Toby Hodge runs on to win the Series Feature Race. Tony Henry, Michael Blount, Jerry Casano, and Doyle Bratton rounded out the top five.
