Spartans were happy to be warriors. Were dominant army in Greece and feared by neighbors . Spartan women had many rights, more than in any other city- state. Assembly of Spartan citizens were ruled by 5 managers ( ephors) with the help of senior advisors (council of Elders).

Spartans were happy to be warriors Were dominant army in Greece and feared by neighbors Spartan women had many rights, more than in any other city- state Assembly of Spartan citizens were ruled by 5 managers ( ephors) with the help of senior advisors (council of Elders) Lived in Greek City-State with out protective walls (750 BC- 371 BC) Spartan citizens did not farm or trade. They used helots (slaves) to farm and perioeci(merchants and artisans) from nearby villages to do trading Spartans that won a war, came home with their shields. Spartan warriors that were killed in war, were carried home on their shields Spartans had strategic body armor, and were undefeated soldiers for centuries At 7 Spartan boys were sent to live in military camps Defeated by Alexander the Great of Macedonia in 371 BC Spartans had a unique, curved sword form war land laws Nikky Nemzer, Pd. 2
