  2. The Premise • Dress codes are a hot topic in schools Many people are pro-uniforms -They feel this promotes acceptance from other classmates - They also feel the students will have less opportunities to be bullied because of their clothes

  3. Premise (cont’d) • Some people are against wearing uniforms • Some believe uniforms take away the students creativity • Others believe it inhibits the child’s freedom of expression • We conducted a survey to see what people thought. • Here are our results…

The Results • It is split even if dress codes are good for schools. • 75% of the people surveyed did not have to wear uniforms while attending grade school • 25% thought wearing uniforms would be good for school, whereas 50% believed uniforms would be bad for school. The remaining 25% thought that the parents should decide.

The Results (cont’d) • People strongly thought that uniforms would “allow for the students not to break the dress codes” and that “it allows uniformity”. • However, when hearing the word “uniform”, all responders said that there is a negative connotation along with the word. • 50% believe uniforms will not stop bullying, while the other 50% believe it can stop some bullying. • Everybody said that this survey made them think about uniforms. • 75% of the responders were male, and 25% female.
