Physico-chemical and HPTLC studies on leaf and root of Mukia maderaspatana (L.)M. Roemer.

Mukia maderaspatana (L.) M. Romer., a plant drug of Siddha medicine, is an annual monoecious tendril climber, belonging to the family Cucurbitaceae, mostly prevalent in South India. It is commonly called Musumusukkai in Tamil. The leaf and root part of the plant were collected and investigated for their physico-chemical properties. The leaf and root showed distinct variations. High performance thin layer hromatography analysis of ethyl alcohol extract of leaf and root samples gave three and five bands respectively. Both the leaf and root samples shows the Rf value 0.20 (β-sitosterol), the root sample shows the Rf value 0.56 (columbin).

Assessment of Water Quality in the Vicinity of Anandapuram

Physico 'u201cChemical analysis of surface & well water samples collected from eight sampling stations in the vicinity of Anandapuram, Visakhapatnam Dt. for three months during February to April 2017. The analysis consists of parameters such as pH, total dissolved solids, total hardness, nitrate, sulphate, biological oxygen demand, iron, manganese, nickel and lead and chromium content in those selected areas .The values obtained for all the parameters are within the prescribed limits and hence the water in those stations are suitable for domestic as well as other purposes. Analytical Study of Washing Machine Effluent for Households of Residential Building in Nasik Region

Water plays a significant role in the human and animal life it is one of the prominent components of environment without which life is not possible in this earth but persistent glitches of today are water scarcity. In the last few decades, limitless urbanization has caused a serious pollution problem due to the disposal of sewage to the water bodies. The present study focused on the physico chemical parameters of wastewater of washing machine for the households of residential building in Nasik. Examination have been be performed on effluent on its physical appearance such as pH, turbidity, TDS, while chemical tests should be perform for its COD, BOD, Oil and Grease, Conductivity, Total Hardness, Calcium, Magnesium, dissolved oxygen, alkalinity, Sulphate, Iron, Lead, Zinc, DO and Nitrate. The analysis shows the parameters have exceed the permissible limit of recycle reuse of water in pH, COD, BOD, Turbidity, TDS, Total Hardness, DO so there is a need for an appropriate treatment system to reuse the washing machine effluent in the case study area.
