  2. Did you know?Broccoli is apart of the cabbage family.

  3. Did you know? • The word broccoli comes from the Latin word brachium and the Italian word braccio, which means “arm”. • California produces almost all the broccoli in the US.

  4. Did you know? • Thomas Jefferson, one of the founding fathers of the United States, liked broccoli. He imported4 the seeds from Italy to plant at Monticello. He recorded planting the vegetable there as early as May of 1767. • Americans eat over 4 pounds of broccoli a year.

  5. Why everyone should eat Broccoli! -Good source of • Vitamin C • Contains antioxidants • Low in carbs and calories • Can lower cholesterol • Vitamin K

  6. Cook it Up! Try this dish tonight: Easy Chicken, Brown Rice, and Broccoli In a 9 x 12 dish, place chicken, rice, broccoli, and pour cream of chicken soup over all of it. Cook for about 40 minutes and then take out to add cheese and cook more until the cheese is melted.
