Why did the U.S. implement the Marshall plan in Western Europe after world war II ? • To restore the government of Western Europe after World War 2, to rebuild Europe, and form key alliances with democratic nations to help France, Belgium, Holland, Scandinavia countries recover after the Marshall plan was approved.

Which benefit did the U.S. gain by providing aid to Western Europe under the Economic Recovery Program ? • Germany got a really raw deal this was a contributing factor to the second World War , so the US was afraid of a third one and they gave Western Europe loans to ensure stability and prosperity.

Also, with Europe back on its feet we would be able to open free trade again and that would help our industry.
