  9. Concept of New Parcel Booking Centres New Parcel Booking Centres perform Booking of Retail as well as Bulk Parcels (both Business and Express Parcel) Despatch to local Parcel Sorting Centre Selected PBCs are authorized by Directorate to close direct bags to other Parcel/Express Parcel Hubs

Concept of Parcel Hubs/Express Parcel Hubs The units performing Sorting of Parcels are termed as Parcel Hubs/ Express Parcel Hubs Parcel Hubs and Express Parcel Hubs are two different offices Parcel Hubs perform sorting and transmission of Ordinary Parcels Registered Parcels Business Parcels Express Parcel Hubs (currently in 20 cities) perform sorting & transmission of Express Parcels

  14. At Parcel Hub/Express Parcel Hub For both Parcel Hub and Express Parcel Hub, Software is common. Based on the configuration done at the time of installation (selecting the office type either as Parcel Hub OR Express Parcel Hub), data will be exchanged with Central Server.
  15. Product Norms for New Parcel Products
  16. Norms for Business Parcels Only available to contractual customers (Bulk Customers) No retail booking. Hence booking can be done only in Parcel Booking Centres Minimum monthly business of Rs.7500-00 (OR) 100 Parcels for becoming contractual customers Add-on facilities like Insurance and COD
  17. Norms for Business Parcels……..Contd Minimum Weight – 2 Kg; Max Weight – 35 Kg Transmission through surface Volume based discount Handled in Parcel Hubs
  18. Tariff for Business Parcels The above tariff shall be exclusive of taxes. The taxes, if leviable, have to be paid extra as notified by the Central Government from time to time.

Norms for Express Parcels Available to both retail and Bulk Customers Retail Express Parcels to be booked in Post Offices through Point of Sale Bulk Express Parcels can be booked in Parcel Booking Centres (using BNPL Parcel Software) Minimum monthly business of Rs.7500 Or 100 Parcels for becoming contractual customers Point to Point service. Currently limited to 20 Cities
  20. Norms for Express Parcels……Contd Minimum weight 0.5 Kg Maximum weight 20 Kg for Retail customers Maximum weight for bulk customers is 35 Kg Volume based discount Cash on Delivery facility for bulk customers/ VPP facility for retail customers Sorting done in Express Parcel Hubs
  21. Currently this facility is available only to 20 cities

Pre-requisites Go through Guidelines document, Release Document, User guide before attempting to Upgradation of ParcelNet Update 29112013 Upgrade using ParcelNetUpdate29112013 available in CEPT ftp site at URL ftp://ptcinfo.org/Meghdoot7/Updates/ Post Offices: IFSUpdate22112013 is the pre-requisite Parcel Booking Centres: Fresh installation of Point of Sale, Rnet Communication & BNPL Parcel Parcel Hub/Express Parcel Hubs: Fresh installation of ParcelNet Client and ParcelNet Communication 26 NOVEMBER 2013
  31. Pre-requisites…..Contd For any errors after Upgradation, refer to SolutionsTo ParcelNetUpdate folder available therein. For any unresolved issues, send email to support@ceptmysore.net Appraise the staff concerned about the new process/products after up-gradation of the Software.   32. Guidelines for Successful Implementation
  33. At Post Offices No need to install BNPL Parcel software if no Bulk customers are attached No need to do any configuration changes in Point of Sale/ Despatch/Postman/RNet Communication. Successful upgradation of the software is enough. Request for Officemaster data through Rnet Communication, for getting the Customer information in BNPL Parcel application (registered through ParcelNet Website) 26 NOVEMBER 2013
  34. At Post Offices……Contd Two kinds of electronic data is transmitted to Delivery office in case of COD article. Booking information containing COD amount etc. This is transmitted immediately after article is booked Virtual data (from concerned Parcel Hub/Express Parcel Hub) along with physical transmission of COD article Electronic data as mentioned at (a) is compulsory for invoicing any COD article. If no electronic data is received, System informs the same when operator proposes to invoice the COD article. Request for electronic data through Postman Supervisor  Tools Request resend COD data. 26 NOVEMBER 2013
  35. At Parcel Booking Centres As the office is new, ensure that the office is created as type “PBC” by CEPT by entering the pincode in ParcelNet Website. If not created, send request for office creation by email to CEPT Mysore Customer Registration in ParcelNet Website has to be done only after the office is created by CEPT, as the Office Booking has to be selected at the time of Customer Registration. If any PBC works under the control of RMS Division, the eBIller registration of a COD customer has to be got done through local Postal Division and the eBiller ID so generated has to be entered in ParcelNet website while registering the BNPL Customer by RMS Divisional Administrator. 26 NOVEMBER 2013
  36. At Parcel Booking Centres…….. Contd As the office is new, the following modules have to be installed afresh and upgraded sequentially uptoParcelNetUpdate Point of Sale (for the purpose of Despatch) Rnet Communication BNPL Parcel Above 3 applications should be separate for PBC. If any other office is running in the same premises (like Post Office, BPC), care to be taken that the above three applications are installed separately for the purpose of Parcel Booking Centre (as the software identifies it as a separate office) 26 NOVEMBER 2013
