  2. The Masthead The Masthead is the magazine name at the top of the cover. The Masthead is in a large clear font. This is to grab the reader attention and to stand out.

  3. The Main Image The main image is the biggest picture on the cover . The main image is used to get the reader know what the main article is in the magazine . In this case , the picture is of 3 super heroes in the summer blockbuster the Avengers. This writing here tells the reader what is in the picture.

  4. The Banner The Banner is the most important piece of information on the front cover other than the title In this case the banner is advertising the movie ‘The Avengers’

  5. The Sub-banner The Sub-banner tells the reader a little bit more about the main article. Some words that are normally in the sub-banner is interviews , exclusive and synopsis.

  6. The Coverline The Coverlineone-line descriptions of articles found on the cover of the magazine. Their purpose is to entice the reader into picking up the magazine.
