Why Web 2.0? • District Librarians trained on 23 things. • Based on Ms. Bower’s 43 things. • Web 2.0 is the software application movement.
How do you get started? • Get your principals support. • Create a Wiki for posting the assignment. • http://crownovermsweb20.wikispaces.com/ • Create a Ning for comments and collaboration. • http://rcms5things.ning.com/ must be invited but you can create your own here
What 5 things did we choose? • Underlaying- (Ning, Wiki, Avatars) • Google- (Google Lit Trips, Google Sky, Google Math, Google Earth) • Teacher Tube- (what did you search for, what did you find, how can you use it in the classroom) • Blogs-(Create your own classroom ,How can students use blogs in your classroom? • District Links- Cool Tools, Science Tube--collection of district science classroom videos • National Educational Technology Standards (NETS)
Was it Successful? • Only 2 teachers did not participate. • Every teacher had a blog. • Lots of praises and comments. • See comments on Ning for #4 Cool tools
