  3. Introducing the East Midlands LETB “Our goal is to develop a high quality, safe and sustainable workforce to meet the healthcare needs of the people of the East Midlands.” Our values: How we achieve our goal

The Operating Model • The Governing Body of the LETB is a subcommittee of Health Education England. • The East Midlands body includes: • An independent chair • 5 Chief Execs who each chair a LETC at County level • A Primary Care Director • A Third Sector Chief Executive • 2 representatives of Higher Education • 5 Executives • Strong focus on local decision making through the 5 LETCs. These are partnerships drawn from senior stakeholders across health and social care commissioners and providers.

  8. How are we working together strategically? • We have a partnership agreement between the East Midlands • AHSN, LETB, Clinical Senate and Leadership Academy. This is important to building our capacity and capability for improvement and also for engaging well with clinicians and managers in healthcare. • Next steps • Big data project – we are sharing data to make decisions about where we focus our combined resources to maxi impact • All for one and one for all – sharing engagement events, patient senate and exploring how we share innovation and best practice through linked communications and portal • Bringing our unique expertise and perspectives to common problems eg how do we make East Midlands the destination of choice for healthcare staff?

Aligning systems and processes • A workforce lead has been assigned to join each of the 4 clinical network steering groups • Involvement in Quality Scrutiny Boards and Risk Summits • Communities of interest with clinicians in particular specialties who are able to support developmental activity • Annual professional summits taking place in October for Nurses and Midwives, Allied Health Professionals, Healthcare Scientists, Pharmacists to understand key professional developments as context to the workforce plan and education commissioning – you are welcome to join us! • Liaison between Specialty Schools and services to understand education needs in particular specialities
