UKTI offers expertise, contacts and support through its extensive network of specialists in the UK, and in over 100 markets British embassies and other diplomatic offices around the world. Support to ALL companies eg OMIS Funding support to SME’s

  3. UKTI support 2010 in the North East? Keith Stockdale Over 160 companies used our in depth support and More than 300 companies used our Embassy/Consulate(OMIS) service in the North East Region. Market Visits from the North East have recently been to Sweden, Japan, Brazil, Hong Kong, China, Australia, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, France, Russia, Switzerland, Turkey, India. Companies from the North East have been supported by UKTI at major shows in China, India, USA, France, Japan, Switzerland, Spain, Germany and Dubai. UKTI have brought Commercial Officers from Algeria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Ecuador, France, Egypt, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Iraq, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, Kazakhstan, Netherlands, New Zealand, Oman, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, Slovenia and USA to the North East region to engage with local companies.

  9. Applying this approach, and building on the measures set out in The Plan for Growth, UKTI will focus primarily on 18 priority sectors, which fall into five groupings. These sectors, identified in the recent review, are underpinned by two cross-cutting areas – Technology and Low Carbon − whose breadth means that they drive, and enable, all the other sectors (see sector table opposite Keith Stockdale The Foreign Office will later this week reveal how much money and resource it is shifting from its European embassies and consulates to emerging markets like Brazil and India as part of the “prosperity agenda”, as it describes it.
