  1. PRESENTATION ENERGY MANAGEMENT DIVISION (EMD)

  2. INTRODUCTION Saket Projects Limited is a public limited multi-functionary organization established in 1995 with access to Technical Management and other allied services to the customers. The activity areas include: - Energy Management - Event Management - Industrial & Construction Publications - Manufacturing Pharma Formulations - Water Management

  3. Energy Management Division Saket has played a pivotal role in establishing huge energy saving in large number of industries with the help of highly skilled manpower backed up by state-of-the-art microprocessor based instruments. • We were first to get the recognition as Approved Energy Auditors from theCommissioner of Electricity,Government of Gujarat. This was followed by – • Accreditation as an Energy Auditor by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Ministry of Power. • Authorization as an ESCO Company Grade – 2 by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE ), Ministry of Power • Recognition from PCRA (Petroleum Conservation Research Association) • GEDA (Gujarat Energy Development Agency) • REDA (Rajasthan Energy Development Agency)

  6. Methodology & Approach For Energy Audit • Electrical System • Water Pumping System • Compressed Air System • Refrigeration System • Blower and Fan Systems • Thermal System

  7. ACase StudyonMotor Load System in Small Scale Industries

  8. MEASURED PARAMETERS WITH % LOADING

  9. Observations : • Generally in Small Scale Industries, 1 HP to 20 HP IE- 1 category motors have been installed. • It has been seen form the measured parameters that almost 60 to 70% motors are running under loaded. • Most of the electric motors are designed to run at 50 to 100 percent of rated load. Optimum efficiency of motors are usually near to 50 - 100 percent of rated load. • Under loaded motors, those loaded below 50 % of rated load are inefficient and exhibit low power factor. • Low power factor results in increased electrical distribution system losses.

  10. Saving Potential with IE 3 Motors

  11. Based on the measured Parameters, we recommend to replace the existing motors with High energy efficient motors (IE-3) with suitable size.Total Saving:Rs.0.35Lacs/AnnumInvestment :Rs.0.70Lacs.Payback : 24 Months. Continued…

  12. ACase StudyonLighting System in Small Scale Industries

  13. INTRODUCTION Replacement of existing 40 W FTL fixtures with 28 / 36W FTL with the use of Electronic Ballast in Tube Light Circuit Installation of Lighting Fixtures • 40 W FTL : 170 Nos. • 150 W HPSV : 20 Nos.

  14. SITE MEASUREMENTS • During the site work, we shall collect the details of different types of fixtures i.e FTL, HPSV/HPMV/MH etc. • By using the Lux meters, we shall measure the lumens of different types of fixtures as per the guideline of Bureau of Energy Efficiency, (BEE). • By using the power Analyzer, we shall measure the total lighting load of the plant at different phases of R,Y & B.

  15. Recommendation & Saving Potential: • We recommend to replacement of 40 W FTL by Energy Efficient Tube Light T5 (28W) with Electronic Ballast. Life span of T5 is higher than conventional Tube Lights. Much higher output in lumens value against the conventional tube light fittings. • We also suggest to replacement of 150W HPSV by 100W MH due to longer life, high efficiency, fast warm up/Re-strike, superior cold starting, improve colour uniformity, P.F. is higher compared to HPSV.

  16. Saving Potential by replacing 150 W HPSV with 100 W MH: • Quantity :20 • Operational time per day :14 Hrs. • Operating days per Annum :300 • Electricity Tariff Rs./Kwh :5.39 • Power Cons. With exiting 150 W HPSV :170 W • Power Cons. With 100 W MH :122 W • Total Net Savings for 80 Fix./year :Rs. 26,441/- • Total Investment(@ Rs. 2200/fix.) :Rs. 44,000/- • Pay Back Period :20 Months

  17. Saving Potential by replacing 40 W with T5 (28W) T/L: • Quantity :170 • Operational time per day :14 Hrs. • Operating days per Annum :300 • Electricity Tariff Rs./Kwh :5.33 • Power Cons. With exiting 40 W FTL :55 W • Power Cons. With 28 W T5 FTL :30 W • Total Net Savings for 170 Fix./year :Rs. 81,549/- • Total Investment(@ Rs. 900/fix.) :Rs. 1,53,000/- • Pay Back Period :22 Months

  18. Saving PotentialTotal Identified Energy Saving Potential in Lighting Systems as under.Saving:Rs. 1.07 Lacs/AnnumInvestment :Rs. 1.97 Lacs.Payback :21 Months.
