  3. Once upon a time ... The project has developed from a Comenius Action 3.1 project looking at the issue of transition. A meeting was called in Linz, Austria, hosted by Helmut Loidl, the co-ordinator of the LIPSS 3.1 project. It was from the presentations made at this meeting that the group discovered it had shared aims and objectives and a Comenius Action 1 project was founded.

  4. Linz

  5. The Group met initially in Swindon, UK during the autumn of 2000 and had a follow up meeting in February 2001 in Kuopio, Finland. Further meetings took place in Altheim, Germany in November 2001 and Bad Goisern, Austria in April 2002. Issues have been identified by the use of a questionnaire to over 300 pupils facing transition and from these issues strategies have been developed and piloted in order to ensure the transition process is as smooth as possible for the pupils.
