  1. In 1862 Belize became British Crown Colony and in 1981 it became independent. It is now a parliamentary democracy. Belize’s government is fully committed towards the development of Belize as a thriving offshore jurisdiction. The government of Belize is making sure that the policies and legislation meets the requirements and interests of international financial community, through regular talks with private sector.   2. International Business Company • IBC (International Business Company) is a popular offshore corporate structure in Belize. It is formed, under the International Business Company Act 1990 and should conduct its business and trading outside Belize. However, it does allow carrying of some activities within Belize too. Offshore companies in Belize are used for different international investment and tax planning purposes.

  3. Belize formerly known as British Honduras • Belize was formerly known, as British Honduras, it is a beautiful and independent country located in Central America. Belmopan is the capital of Belize, but its commercial center is Belize City, located on the eastern cost, which is quite close to the international airport. Belize has a population of around 300,000 of which 60,000 reside in Belize City. Belize population is ethnically diverse. Population of Belize includes descendants of the Mayan culture and people of Caucasian, Chinese, Caribbean and East Indian descent.

  4. Long history of democracy, peace and stability • Belize has a very long history of democracy, peace and stability. In the year of 1862 Belize became British Crown Colony and achieved complete independence in 1981. Belize is a member of United Nations, British Commonwealth and Non-Aligned Movement. Cabinet exercises the executive authority under the leadership of PM, which is subjected to approval by a twenty-eight member Senate, its majority is recommended by the PM. Belize has two political parties, with both committed towards the economic development and encouragement of investment coming from overseas.

Popular Tourist Destination • Belize’s clean environment with barrier reef and cays make it a hugely popular tourist destination, whereas its crystal clear waters are wonderful for swimming, fishing, diving and other water sports, as a result people who love water sports often visit this beautiful country to have a time of their lives. Belize also has a unique mixture of caves, mountains, unspoiled woodlands, jungle, and waterfalls in addition to archaeological sites. Belize also has world’s only jaguar reserve along with wildlife sanctuaries, forest reserves and marine resort areas. English is the official language of Belize; its currency is Belize Dollar.
