  1. What is the Asian Handicap and how does it work in football? When you hear Asian handicap betting, what comes to your mind? Does it sound familiar to you? Or, this is the first time that you encounter the word? Whatever it is, Asian Handicap in betting is one of the most interesting bets that ever exist in sportsbook betting in Singapore. Although it may sound a bit exotic and mysterious, this is the easiest type of bet. Like the name itself, it originates and most popular in the Asian sports betting market. And you will notice in most Asian betting sites, Asian handicap will never go out of the list. What is Handicap Betting? Handicap betting, point betting, or line betting, whatever you call it. This type of bet is often used to even out the playing field for two teams that are not evenly matched. Here, the bookies give a virtual advantage to the weak team. As well as, a virtual advantage to the stronger team. So, when you bet on the weaker team, then they would have the edge over the other team. Bookmakers do this to even out the chance of winning. And if there is no handicap made by the bookies, then there is no doubt that the stronger team will win the game. And the game would be very predictable and monotonous. Handicap betting helps to even things up as well as make the game more interesting.

Wherein, it gives a virtual advantage to the underdog. Also, for the favourites that have disproportionate strength and form. To simply put, before the kick-off, the weaker team gets an advantage (goals). Usually, the handicaps or goal advantage get to the underdog team. Asian handicaps are written in a decimal/fraction or whole number. For the favourite team, a minus symbol (-) is used, and it means a handicap disadvantage. Thus, a plus symbol (+) will get to the underdog team for the handicap advantage. In Asian handicap betting, you will get a lot of betting options which are called “lines”.
