  2. Definitions • Politics – The art or science concerned with guiding or influencing government • Ideology – A systematic body of concepts, especially about human life or culture.

  3. What are we doing? • Today I am going to put on the board different political ideologies. • You are going to write down the definition from the board. • Then, in the space provided you are going to draw a picture that represents the description • They will all have to do with cows!

  4. Socialism • You have two cows. The government takes them and puts them in a barn with everyone else’s cows, then give you as much milk as it thinks you need.

  5. Democracy • You have two cows. Your neighbors decide who gets the milk.

  6. Communism • You have two cows. Your neighbors help you take care of them, and everyone shares the milk.

  7. Capitalism • You have two cows. You sell one and buy a bull.

  8. Russian Communism • You have two cows. You have to take care of them and then the government takes all the milk.

  9. Representative Democracy • You have two cows. You elect someone with the best face for TV to tell you how to take care of your cows.

  10. Fascism • You have two cows. The government takes both and shoots you.
