This document outlines the significant upgrades made to the Hadronic Testing Suite, focusing on Test30 and Test45 developments as of July 2008. Key updates include enhancements in neutron production, revised data formats, the incorporation of recent EXFOR data, and specialized scripts. Notably, the new results for Test30 exhibit improved robustness, while Test45, derived from TTY experiments, provides valuable neutron yield data. The report discusses challenges in proton production, ion/ion interactions, and significant bug fixes. A thorough literature search has also contributed to these advancements.

Hadronic Testing Suite Upgrade V.Ivanchenko, A.Ivantchenko 24 July 2008
Outline • Test30 upgrade • New test30 results • New test45
Test30 • In April and May Anton updated test30 • New recent EXFOR data • Scripts and data format • Plots logarithmic in energy • Complete neutron production • Few settings with proton production • In June Pablo and Francesco worked on ion/ion • Added qmd model • Proposed bug fixes for ion projectile • Literature search • New ion/ion data set and detailed data

Conclusions for test30 (g4 9.2beta) • Test30 updated is more robust • Neutron production nearly complete • d + A → n + X and α + A → n + X not updated • Few proton production plots • Few ion/ion data • Problems in PreCompound/Binary: • Deficit on neutrons in p + Al (pending tags) • 4-momentum balance • Proton spectra • Problems in Bertini: • Quasi-elastic for light targets • Coulomb barrier in PreCompound • 4-momentum balance • Proton spectra • Problems for ion/ion (see Pablo and Francesco results)
Test45 is based on TTY experiments • T. Aoki, M. Baba etc., Nucl. Sc. Eng., 146, 200-208 (2004) • LA150 data library comparisons/ MCNPX calculations • TTY - Thick Target Yield, neutron beam 50MeV • Approach used for MCNPX validation • Targets - C (15mm), Al (10mm), Ta, W (4mm) • Data were corrected for secondary interations • Bins in neutron energy: • 0-5 MeV - 0.1MeV • 5-50 MeV - 1MeV • Polar Angle from 00 to 900
Summary for test45 • A new test45 for TTY data is available • Time consuming (high statistic required) • MCNPX used TTY for validation • Probably should be published separately • Suggesting?
