  1. Everything you need to know before opting for laser hair removal Various types of Aesthetic Lasers used for hair reduction: Alexandrite Laser (755nm) - For finer hair light brown to less pigmented ones. Diode Laser (808nm) - Most preferred ones for dark brown and black terminal hairs, Nd-Yag Laser (1064)- Choice of laser for Asian dark hair and highly pigmented skin type V and VI, till the launch of the in SHR diode with sapphire chilled tip technology. IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is not a laser; though this is also used for laser hair removal in a few clinics they need more no. of sessions. To be more precise, the hair removing lasers uses the wavelength anywhere between 694 to 1064 nm of the electromagnetic spectrum. The most preferred one the gold standard Diode is around 808 to 810nm wavelength. The deepest reach of Diode 808 and NDYag 1064 is around 2.8 to 3mm into the skin and absorbed only by black and brown pigments in the hair bulbs and bulge. As per the protocol 6 to 8 sittings are enough to complete the first set of treatment which reduces up to 80% or more. Reduced hair is often like peach fuzz blended with the skin. Maintenance session is required twice or thrice a year if there is any hormonal spurt related visible growth is seen in later stages. Men and women with hair and skin color in contrast keys, are the best candidate and more than 80% reduction is observed in fewer sessions in them. Clients with hormonal disorder need more maintenance sessions and longer treatment periods. For example, in women polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is quite common these days, or if she has an underlying condition like hyperandrogenism, results may vary and multiple sessions will be needed. Once the sessions are planned with hormones stabilized with medication, satisfactory results could be obtained. Here are few things you must follow as you opt for Laser Hair Removal Treatment: ❏ Hair growth is driven by our hormones, so please let your clinician have all necessary details as per your medications and underlying conditions are concerned. Follow the session plan given to you, depending on individual requirement and hair growth cycle, plans may vary for different body parts, be flexible. Always shave if needed in between two sessions, as the laser beam needs all the terminal hair growth in the active anagen phase to target and kill effectively. Do not pluck or wax if you have an occasion that demands hair removal for the day. Just shave the area, keep the picture of the hair growth and share it with your technician. To have a hassle free LHR experience, please follow the simple aftercare guidelines provided by your clinic as your skin might be sensitive to external factors like heat and Sun. ❏ ❏ ❏ ❏

  2. Keep the treated area clean, follow the general hygiene in public places to avoid cross infection & wear a prescription SPF to avoid any PIH formation. Book your sessions before the hairs start graying. Choose your clinic wisely. Too many trial and error in cheap clinics with old devices can send you in a wild goose chase with no result. Avoid landing into clinics that use untrained staff and outdated laser devices. ❏ ❏ ❏ Source URL - http://groupspaces.com/vlcc2/pages/everything-you-need-to-know-before-opting-for-laser- hair-removal
