Definition • PC Globe is an atlas for MS DOSand Microsoft Windows was released in 1993. • Distributed onfloppy disk, the program is divided into several menus that allows one to access the data. • The database includes a geographic mapof the world, with the possibility to select the country of interest.
The Functions • Statistics for the countries can readily be contrasted. • Statistics include: population, age distribution, population growth, population density,percentage of urbanization,area,languages, religions, health statistics, government, culture, education,agricultural products, manufactured goods, tourist information and others.
User of PC Globe • RESEARCH
Advantages • PC-Globe does not allow the user to either enter or edit data concerning the countries in its “database” . • To make easier research and find a lot of information we may be looking for. • Using PC-Globe will allow the user to solve such problems as: “Which country in the world spends the most money (% of GNP) on education?” , etc.
Disadvantage • PC-Globe allows users to issue commands to manipulate the data in order to request information.
