Joint Base Legislation • The Base Realignment and Closure Commission 2005 legislation directed the DoD to realign 26 separate installations into 12 Joint Base installations • Specifically to our installation, the legislation “realigned Fort Dix NJ and Naval Engineering Station Lakehurst NJ, by relocating the installation management functions to McGuire AFB NJ, establishing Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst NJ”
