X XI XII I II III IV V VI VII VIII IX IX • Orientation/motivational practicum for the first year students • Project aims: • to help the first year students get acquainted with details connected with the study, • to analyze the first year students’ expectations, • to test and adjust the approach for further application. • The project was carried out at seven faculties of University of Rijeka. The students’ feedback and survey results were presented at the workshop. • Quality culture promotion at the University of Rijeka • Project aims: To analyze the present situation and to establish the quality culture promotion system. To build the quality promotion infrastructure. • each faculty appointed the Quality Promotion Team consisting of staff, student and administration representatives. The task of the team was to implement programs and to initiate their own developmental activities. • a visit of EU consultants to University of Rijeka was organized within the CARDS programs • a visit and lecture by Ph.D. O. Havika, University of Bergen, Norway: “The Quality Reform of Higher Education in Norway: Implications for Quality Development Control”. • Implications for Quality Development Control”.

X XI XII I II III IV V VI VII VIII IX IX Student perspective on quality in higher education at the UniRi Project aim: To analyze the quality of student engagement and their learning experience. May 2004 - Self-evaluation questionnaire “How do I see my study” was applied on the population of graduate students at all institutions. Data collection and analysis is in progress. Results are going to be presented during September 2004. Quality promotion office web pages June 2004 - Web site fully operational. On-line students’ rating of teachers’ performance Project aim: To set the system of regular teaching quality assessment. The web-based questionnaire was adapted. To be applied during the academic year 2005/06. Teachers’ perspective on quality in higher education at the UniRi Project aim: To collect information on teaching quality from teachers’ perspective. All teachers should fill in the self-evaluation questionnaire compatible and comparable with the students’ one. By the end of May 2004 the data will have been collected.
