Best Practices • Avoid software with intense graphics / processing requirements. • Application Sharing works well for procedural demonstrations or for sharing webpages or applications that require login credentials (for example, LearningStudio) • To prepare your applications prior to sharing individual applications, open them and reduce the window size so that it doesn’t occupy the whole screen. Don’t minimize them; leave them open behind the Collaborate window. • The larger the application, the more time it will take to load on participants’ screens. Pause prior to moving on, and be much more conservative with your mouse movements/clicks. • In Application Sharing, you are only broadcasting your screen; any application that plays audio will not convey to your participants. Participants will only hear audio that is recorded by your microphone. • Remember that participants will see anything within the yellow Application Sharing boundary, including the Collaborate sidebar. Move unnecessary applications outside of the boundary. D
