  3. How it Works… • AED delivers a shock to heart • Hopefully “resetting” the electrical system

Using an AED • General Precautions • Don’t use alcohol • Use the appropriate pads (Child vs. Adult) • Do not touch the person while AED is analyzing • Do not use around flammable objects • Do not use is the person is in contact with water • Do not use if person has nitroglycerin patch • Do not use cell phone with 6 feet of device
