OMHA Coaches Program: REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT LEADERS • The VISION of the Program will be to create a network of support and implementation throughout each region and ultimately each MHA: • OMHA Regional Development Leaders (7) • OMHA Skills Coaches • 1 - Goaltending • 2-3 - Technical Skills • 2-3 - Individual / Team Tactics • Regional Skills Coaches • 7 - Goaltending • 7 - Technical Skills • 7 - Individual / Team Tactics • MHA Skills Coaches • 1 - Goaltending • 1 - Technical Skills • 1 - Individual / Team Tactics development ‘07

OMHA Coaches Program: REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT LEADERS • REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT LEADER • will work closely with the following: • REM’s • Technical Director - Coaches • Coach Mentors • Region Coordinators • NCCP Instructors • Skills Coaches • OMHA Office • The Regional Development Leader’s role is two-fold: • Act as the development contact for all development initiatives in the region. • Act as a direct liaison with all associations within the region and support them in implementing development initiatives. development ‘07

OMHA Coaches Program: 2007-2008 • The OMHA Development Committee, working under the direction of Hockey Canada believes: • It is important to have highly knowledgeable and competent coaches • In the need to continue to learn and develop the skills of our coaches • We must ensure a high quality learning environment for all OMHA players • To achieve this, the OMHA introduces the…Continuing Education Program (CEP) for Coaches development ‘07

  7. OMHA Coaches Program: 2007-2008 • Coaches* will be required to participate in Continuing Education Program (CEP) modules to maintain their certification. • Coaches* are required to obtain credit points every three (3) years in order to maintain their standing within the NCCP. • The Coach will be required to keep track of eligible activities in which they participate on their CEP passport. • The CEP Passport will need to be submitted to the OMHA at the end of the 3-year cycle. development ‘07

OMHA Coaches Program: 2007-2008 * Certification Levels Required to participate in the Program: • NCCP Coach Level • NCCP Coach Stream (Rec Coach) • NCCP Development 1 • NCCP Intermediate (as of Dec. 1, 2009) • NCCP Development 2 * Certification Levels Not Required to participate in the Program: • CHIP (Initiation – Intro Coach) • Advanced Levels 1 & 2 • High Performance Level 1 & 2 development ‘07

  10. OMHA Coaches Program: COACH SPECIALTY CLINICS • A series of Specialty Clinics have been developed to offer coaches a practical session on teaching various skills, tactics & systems. This proactive approach will also open the doors of communication and provide a non-threatening environment for coaches to further pursue a mentor. • The Specialty Clinic modules include: • Skating • Puck Control • Small Area Games • Checking development ‘07
