  2. Patient has insight is safe and willing to be assessed • Assess mental state and risk • If non urgent Duty following day • If urgent 5-9 CATT (via Albany lodge) • If urgent 9-9 Albany lodge • Assessed by StR and Night CATT

  3. Patient unwilling to be assessed • Risk MHA assessment • Place of safety ? Police • Albany lodge advice MHA assessment • Assessments arranged by Emergency Duty Team (EDT)

  4. EDT for Herts • Mon-Thurs 5.15pm-9am • Friday 4.30pm-9am Mon • Based in Hertford • 2 staff until midnight & 1 thereafter • Co-ordinate MHA Assessment • GP • Sec 12 Dr • ASW

  5. Emergency Oral Medication (What we do) Disturbed behaviour unresponsive to de-escalation Lorazepam 1-2mg &/or Olanzapine 10 mg No response repeat after 45 mins (max 4mg Lorazepam 20mg Olanzapine in 24 hours)

  6. Repeat out of Hours presentations • Close working with Sector CMHT • Allocation of Care Coordinator • Care Plan agreed with patient • May need CPA meetings and frequent regular reviews to establish stability
