Materials • A help board • A variety of paper • Stacking trays/dry-erase board • Writing utensils • Alphabet strips/chart • Name charts • Simple word books • Picture dictionaries/beginning dictionary and thesaurus • High-quality sample student writing • Samples of writing forms (letter, invitation, poem etc) • Blank books, cards • Staples and tape • Charts/magazine photos, envelopes • Author study tub • Tub labeled finished work
