Backhand Drive Too easy? Add Topspin. Topspin is produced by starting your stroke below and/or behind the ball and brushing the ball in an upward and forward motion. Why use spin? -The forward spin will increase the downward pressure on the ball, so after it bounces on the table it will stay low and accelerate forwards.
Forehand Chop The forehand chop is a defensive stroke played away from the table. It is mainly used by defenders but can also be incorporated into an attackers game when forced away from the table.
Forehand Drive The forehand drive is an attacking stroke played with a small amount of topspin. Technique Keep the upper arm closeto your body. Turn waist with your arm. Shift your body weight forwards when you contact the ball. Return to ready position quickly.
