STMicroelectronics our Total Environment Management Environment friendly processes avoid natural resources consumption and wastes generation and yield a strong competitivive advantage. • On 1995 ST issued its “Environmental Decalogue”: • The 6° “commandment” imposes that 95% of wastes has to be reused or recycled. • The 7° “commandment” requires the use of: • “DFE Design For Environment” rules in designing and producing our products, • “Life CycleAssessment” for minimizing the whole impact to the Environment of our activities.

Promoted a positive attitude through the organization for Raw material selection process based on its total life cycle. Sustained activities for selective waste collection, segregation and treatment before disposal. Identified partners for wastes recycling.

  9. Solid Wastes recycle Solid recyclable wastes are selectively segregated at the “Eco Isle”. The recycling of 700 tons/year avoids a cost of 75.000 €/year.

  10. Silicon Wafers Recycle Scrap Wafers are sold as raw material to Solar Cell makers 700.000 €/year yield recovery

  11. ST-Agrate Chemicals recycled ~5687 Tons/year

  12. Sludges Recycle 1.200 Tons/year of sludges from Waste water treatment plants sent to brics production industries;avoiding 1000 € cost/year.
