WG Activities (1/4) WG-14 “Environment” • ED-14F “Environment Conditions and Test Procedures for Airborne  Published in Mar.2008 Equipment” • ED-90B “Radio Frequency Susceptibility Test Procedure”  Expected Dec.2008 WG-28 “GNSS” • ED-88A “MOPS for MMR including ILS, MLS and GNSS”  Expected Q3 2008 WG-44 “Terrain Data Bases” Activity restarted in May 2008 with the objective toupdate ED-99 “User  Expected June 2009 Requirement for Aerodrome Mapping Information”and ED-119 “Interchange Standards for Terrain, Obstacle and Aerodrome Mapping” WG-49 “Mode S Enhanced Surveillance” • ED-73C “MOPS for SSR Mode S Transponders” Expected Q3 2008 Three month delay due to the decision to integrate ED-101A “MOPS for Mode S Specific Services” and some elements of ED-82 “MOPS for Mode S Aircraft Data Link Processors” as an appendice in ED-73C. WG-51 “Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B)” • ED-159 “Air Traffic Situational Awareness (ATSA) In-Trail Procedure  Expected July 2008 (ITP) SPR” • ED-160 “SPR for ATSA Visual Separation Approach (VSA)”  Expected Nov 2008 • ED-129 “Technical specification for 1090MHz ADS-B Ground station”  Expected Q4 2008 WG-53 “Air Traffic Services” is now disbanded. • ED-154 “FANS 1/A-ATN Interoperability Standard”  Published June 2008

  4. WG Activities (2/4) WG-59 “Flight Data Processing Interoperability” ED-133 “Flight Object Interoperability Specification” Expected Q4 2008 WG-61 “Open Architecture for Air Traffic Management Systems” The group “hibernates” untila clear ATM Architecture requirement would be defined by SESAR WG-64 “Air Traffic Management Risk Assessment” • ED-125 “Process Specification for Performing risk Assessment and Mitigation in ATM in Compliance with ESSAR4”: Outstanding issues raised by the CAA-UK is still delaying the expected publication. • ED-153 “Guidelines for ATS (or ANS) Software Insurance”  Expected Oct. 2008 WG-67 “VoIP for ATM” • ED-136 “VoIP ATM System operational and Technical Requirements”  Expected Nov. 2008 • ED-137 “Interoperability Standards for VoIP ATM Components”  Expected Nov. 2008 • ED-138 “Network Requirements & Performances for VoIP ATM Systems”  Expected Nov. 2008 WG-69 “A-CDM” • ED-141 “Minimum Technical, Specification for Airport CDM”  Expected Aug. 2008 • ED-145 “Airport CDM Interface Requirements”  Expected Aug. 2008 • ED-146 “Guidelines for Test and Validation related to Airport CDM  Expected Aug. 2008 Interoperability”

  5. WG Activities (3/4) • WG-72 “Aeronautical Systems Security” • Replying to a EUROCAE letter, EASA Regulatory Director indicated a little group will be set up by the Agency to follow/participate to the WG-72 activities. The collaboration with ARINC/AEEC is very efficient. The collaboration with RTCA started (information exchanges). • ED-127 “Guidelines and Methods of Compliance” (title t.b.c)  Expected Q2 2009 • WG-74 “ Emergency Locator Transmitters” • ED-62 RevA “MOPS for Emergency Locator Transmitters 406 Mhz  Expected Q4 2008 • WG-75 “TCAS” • ED-143 “MOPS for TCAS II Airborne Equipment” is under public consultation  Expected Q3 2008 • ER-001 “Evaluation of a proposed TCAS Resolution Advisory “Level Off”  Published Apr 2008 • WG-76 “AIS/MET Data Link Applications” (joint activity with RTCA SC-206) • Level of collaboration (or even merging) with WG-78 “Data Link Application SESAR & Next Gen” is under evaluation. In addition, harmonization on Methodology (ED-78A) is a real concern. • WG-78 “Data Link Application SESAR & Next Gen” is now officially set up (17 June) with confirmed join activities with RTCA SC-214. Interim ROSA program is integrated within WG-78. Some schedule issues and services definition are still to be solved. • WG- 77 “Lightweight flight date recorders for small aircraft” • ED-155 “MOPS for Lightweight Flight Recorders Systems”  Expected end 2008

  6. WG Activities (4/4) Two new WGs have been created since last CNS-ATM meeting: • WG-79 “Enhanced Vision Systems/Synthetic Vision Systems (‘EVS/SVS)”which will collaborate with existing RTCA activity through SC-213 • WG-81 “Interoperability of ATM Simulators” One new WG under preparation: • WG-80 “Hydrogen Fuel Cells” should be starting in October 2008, subject to EUROCAE Council Approval. It will be the first joint activity with SAE (AE7). Specific: • ETSO EqSTG (Equipment Steering Group) New contract under discussion with EASA with objective to edit a package of new or updated ETSOs by mid 2009.

  7. EUROCAE WGs relations with US Standardisation bodies RTCA SAE ARINC • 14 Environmental Tests SC-135 (J) • 28 Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) and SC-159 (C) Ground Based Augmentation System (GBAS) • 31 Lightning AE-2(C) • 44 Aeronautical Terrain Data Bases SC-193 (J) • 49 Mode S SC-209 (C) • 51 Automatic Dependent Surveillance – Broadcast (ADS-B) SC-186 (J) • 58 Passenger Electronic Devices SC-202 (C) • 62 Galileo SC-159 (C) • 63 Complex Aircraft Systems S-18(C) • 68 Altimetry participation • 71 Airborne Software Guidance Documents SC-205 (J) • 72 Aeronautical Systems Security SC-216 (C) (C) • 73 Unmanned Air Systems (UAS) SC-203 (C) participation • 74 Emergency Locator Transmitters SC-204 (J) • 75 Traffic Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) SC-147 (J) • 76 AIS/MET Data Link Applications SC-206 (J) • 77 General Aviation flight data recorders • 78 Data Communication Services for SESAR & NextGen SC-214 (J) • 79 EVS / SVS (title tbc) SC-210 (C) • 80 Fuel Cells S-AE7 (J) • 81 Interoperability of ATM Simulators

  8. RELATIONSHIP LATEST NEWS • SESAR JU:  The SESAR JU, now Full Member of EUROCAE, has been elected member of the EUROCAE Council • ICAO: The Air Navigation bureau expressed is will to closely collaborate with EUROCAE and RTCA  Several meetings were held and discussions go well. Next important step in September in Montreal with other standardisation bodies (RTCA, SAE & ARINC) • Regulatory bodies (CAAs)  There is a noticeable lack of participation from Regulatory bodies in standardisation activities. This is a real concern. EUROCAE (subject to Council approval) will organise an event (Forum or Workshop) to present the European standardisation running activities and to get their view.
