What is Liesure • Free time that can be spent as you see fit • Think about how you spent your time each day . . . . . . • Now eliminate time on necessary tasks- eating, sleeping, school, chores, grooming, work, travelling to and from places • Now what activities are left- these activities and pastimes make up your leisure time

  3. What is Recreation • Participation in an activity that you enjoy • Reading a book • Hobbies- scrapbooking, model trains • Fishing • Sports and Games- badminton, jogging, cycling, soccer, hockey • Fitness Activities- aquafit, aerobics, bootcamp, zumba, spinning

  4. Recreation and Leisure Task • You will be analyzing the Kawartha Lakes Community guide to determine if there are Recreational and Leisure opportunities for all segments of the population • So what do we need to look for

  5. Look Fors • Age groups • Infant/toddlers • Youth • Teens • Adults • Seniors • Ability Levels • Beginners • Novice • Advanced • Interests • Outdoor- field, track, paths and trails • Indoor- pool, gymnasium, fitness facility, field, classroom • Location • Arenas, pools, out reach programs
