  1. Genesis 3:15 15 And I will put enmity    between you and the woman,    and between your offspring and hers;he will crush your head,    and you will strike his heel.” (NIV) The King James version of this verse states that there will be “enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed”.

  2. Matthew 13:3-9 3 Then he told them many things in parables, saying: “A farmer went out to sow his seed. 4 As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. 5 Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. 6 But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. 7 Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. 8 Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. 9 Whoever has ears, let them hear.”

  3. Matthew 14:24-30 The Parable of the Weeds 24 Jesus told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. 25 But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away. 26 When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared. 27 “The owner’s servants came to him and said, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?’ 28 “‘An enemy did this,’ he replied. “The servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’ 29 “‘No,’ he answered, ‘because while you are pulling the weeds, you may uproot the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.’”

  4. Genesis 3:15b “he will crush your head and you will strike his heel.” (NIV) “He shall bruise your head,And you shall bruise His heel” (KJV)

  5. The Protoevangelium — The first promise of the gospel The first promise of the gospel and the future coming of and victory of Jesus Christ the Redeemer. The protoevangelium the Latin means 'first Gospel' coming from the word proto or protos meaning first and evangelium referring to the Gospel or Good News of salvation in Jesus Christ. This is important because was the first time God revealed something about his plan for the salvation of the world- Jesus Christ who would crush the head of the devil.

  6. Genesis 3:16 16 To the woman he said, “I will make your pains in childbearing very severe;    with painful labor you will give birth to children.Your desire will be for your husband,    and he will rule over you.”

  7. John 16:21 21 A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world.

  8. Was There Pain Before the Fall? The Hebrew words used for pain in Genesis 3:16 are itstsabown and etseb. When this passage is looked at closely we see “I will greatly multiply your pain [Hebrew: itstsabown] in childbirth, In pain [Hebrew: etseb] you will bring forth children; Yet your desire will be for your husband, And he will rule over you.”

  9. Is physical pain today a good thing? There is a condition today known as Congenital insensitivity to pain (CIP), also known as congenital analgesia, is one or more rare conditions where a person cannot feel (and has never felt) physical pain.

  10. Genesis 3:17 17 To Adam he said, “Because you listened to your wife and ate fruit from the tree about which I commanded you, ‘You must not eat from it,’ “Cursed is the ground because of you;    through painful toil you will eat food from it all the days of your life.

  11. Genesis 3:17b “Cursed is the ground for thy sake”

  12. Genesis 3:17b ”through painful toil you will eat food from it all the days of your life”. An obvious change looking back at Genesis 2:15 where it stated that 15 The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it

  13. Genesis 3:18-19a 18 It will produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat the plants of the field. 19 By the sweat of your brow    you will eat your food
