  1. Somme Sentinel Covering events and activities of cadets in YOUR company to spread the news! Somme Company on parade at Swynnerton Camp The weekend 7th -9th February 2014 Somme Company went on their first camp since the company restructuring. Despite the cold and rain everyone had a great time at Swynnerton Camp in Staffordshire and the weekend was a great success. Seniors planning an exercise Lots of cadets achieved subject passes and a few even completed their next star level. Recruits Camouflage and Concealment One Stars doing SAA

Congratulations to the following cadets on their star passes • Recruit • Adams J – Neston • Irlam A – Neston • McNulty T – Neston • 1 Star • Greig C – Tarporley • Houlbrook T – Abbots Park • 3 Star • Roberts T – Ellesmere Port • Walker E – Nantwich • Wissett A - Abbots Park The recruit wing led by Sgt Mottram had lots of subject passes, including map and compass, first aid and fieldcraft The One Star wing led by SSI Raynes also saw success with lots of subject passed in skill at arms, first aid and map and compass Highlights of the weekend for the seniors were the night nav and the fieldcraft exercise, which saw lots of action as they completed an advance to contact on the Sunday morning. Promotion at Ellesmere Port Detachment Cadet Corporal Ryan Dunne was rewarded for his hard work with promotion to Sergeant by the Deputy Commandant on the recent Somme Coy Weekend. Ryan has been in the Army Cadets for five and a half years, he has enjoyed working his way up to become a senior cadet.
