  3. What is FBLA? • Future Business Leaders of America • Nationally-recognized organization created for business orientated students who want to learn more about the field and develop leadership skills

  4. Purpose of FBLA “Our mission is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs.” -PA FBLA

What Do FBLA Members Do? • Participate in regional, state and national events that give members a place of distinction! • Competitive events test your abilities and knowledge in various fields of business • Ex. Accounting, Business Law, Marketing, Personal Finance, etc. • Community Service Events and Fundraising for Charities • Take at least 1 business course per school year

  7. Business TechnologyCourse Requirement Every FBLA member must be enrolled in at least 1 Business Technology course or Economics course each school year. Please keep this in mind when selecting courses!!!

  8. 2011-2012 Accomplishments 50 students participated in regional competitions 35 students won awards!

  11. 5 Students Qualified and Attended Nationals in San Antonio, TX

  13. FBLA Meetings This Year… Attendance taken at each meeting Be sure to turn in slip Meetings are only once a month Every member is required to attend to maintain membership. Guest Speakers at many meetings

  14. FBLA Dues $15 Due Friday, October 19th, pay: Ed Chen, Treasurer Mrs. Rossiello in A111, before or after school or during enh. DO NOT INTERRUPT CLASSES! Make checks out to “GVHS FBLA” May also pay Cash Be sure to keep receipt Unpaid members will be removed from club after October 19th.

  17. More Goals for 2012-2013 • Increased fundraising for club activities • Business Achievement Award • Given to an individual that meets certain criteria • Ex- 5 community service hours, pen-pals to seniors, creating a bulletin board to advertise • Information on PAFBLA.org

We will be collecting for Platoon Partners. • Some examples of items are: • Candy, beef jerky, powdered drink mix, fruit snacks, gum, sunflower seeds, toothpaste, mouthwash, Q tips, playing cards, chapstick, magazines • Check out Mrs. Rossiello’s Teacher page for a listed of needed items! • Daffodil Days in March • (Proceeds to American Cancer Society) • More info to come!   19. Entertainment Books Over $14,000 worth of coupons! $30 per book EACH MEMBER IS REQUIRED TO SELL ATLEAST ONE BOOK! Hot Chocolate fundraiser Any other ideas would be appreciated! Fundraisers

Activities To maintain your membership, you mustparticipate in activities Some ways to participate: Activities (Entertainment Book sales, etc.) Conferences/Competitions Community Service Ideas Big 33 Business Achievement Awards Many FBLA Activities can serve as your community service or National Honor Society Requirements!
