  3. Celebrations & Traditions *The Sinterklaas parade. *The Sinterklaas parade takes place on Dec. 6th. *Sinterklaas and Pete pass out treats to all the kids.

  4. Important Characters *In Holland Santa Clause is Sinterklaas & Pete is an elf. *They pass out treats to children.

  5. Gifts *The children trade in vegetables to St. Nick to get candy. *Mainly children under the age of 18 receive gifts.

  6. Decorations *They mainly display tasty food in their windows.

  7. Extra info *In a modern day tradition some brave and hearty souls plunge into the north sea on New Years day.

  8. Food *They make a delightful sweet called oliebollen which is an apple raisin doughnut.
