  1. Complete the tasks for each of the history skills below on your own paper or electronic format. Instructions: Ask your parents to look at something (an artifact) they have kept from their past that you can study. Then answer the following questions. RSQ or complete sentences. Write the name of the artifact and what it was used for. (Analyze) Open the textbook to the Table of Contents and review the chapter titles. In which chapter do you think your object might be discussed? Write the name of the chapter along with the chapter number. Explain why you think it would be from this chapter. (Research) If you were going to look for information about your item on the Internet what five words would you type into Google? (Technology) Describe the item in detail in a full and complete paragraph (that means include a topic sentence.) For example you might explain how you think it was used and how it was made. Be sure to give reasons for your ideas. (Writing) Draw a picture of your object. (Recreate) Write a short description (at least three sentences) of what you think the person’s life was like who first owned or used this object. (Empathy) Create a Venn Diagram like the one below comparing this object to a modern one that is used for similar purposes. (Organize) Imagine you discovered this artifact in an archaeological dig.
