  1. History of Nike Air Max. The evolution of visible Air Nike Air technology was invented by NASA engineer Frank Rudy. In the mid-70s, he turned to Nike, offering them his development - a polyurethane container with air, which was inserted into the sole and gave a shock-absorbing effect. The invention did not make a proper impression on the management of the company and Frank was refused. They refused him in all other companies that he applied to. After some time, a desperate Rudy returned to Nike and this time was more persistent, finally achieving that his idea was given due attention. After much trial and error, Rudy's concept found its way into the jordan 4 shimmerAir Tailwind. In 1978, Nike revolutionized the running world with the release of the Air Tailwind, the world's first air-cushioned running shoe, giving the running industry a massive boost. In the mid-80s, Tinker Hatfield, already working for the company, switched from architectural tasks to design. “When I was designing sneakers, I always thought that the air cushion is a complete mystic for everyone except us, the creators. People may have liked our shoes, but they didn’t associate them with performance,” the designer recalled. “We asked people what they thought about the Air technology, and received completely different responses. Many did not know what to say, as they could not see how the technology worked. The air capsule was integrated into the shoe, but was completely closed to the eyes. The breakthrough came when the Nike Air Max was released with visible air,” says Tinker. In 1985, during a business trip to Paris, Hatfield, an architect by training, for the first time discovers the building of the National Center for Culture and Art named after Georges Pompidou.

  2. Visible communications - windows, tunnels, stairs, elevators and escalators - inspired the designer to create the first Air Max model. Hatfield came up with a groundbreaking innovation to create a "window" in the outsole to highlight the Air Max's key characteristic, the air cushion. “If we literally cut out some of the material in the midsole and expose the air gap, then people can understand the concept of our shoes,” he said. Someone believed in the success of this idea, someone did not understand it and denied it. But now, working side by side with designer Mark Parker (now the CEO of Nike), they create the first prototypes, samples, and finally the final model. A crazy idea that many laughed at turned into a shoe And now this day has come. On March 26, 1987, Nike introduced the world to the Air Max 1, the world's first visible air-cushioned sneaker that forever changed the company's history, sneaker design, fashion and style. The air capsule became visible thanks to a special “window” located in the sole of the sneaker in the heel area. When the Nike Air Max 1 was released, it made a splash. Between June 1987 and May 1988, more than a million pairs were sold. An instant classic in athletic and industrial design, the shoe set the stage for visible air technology in the years to come and changed the running industry. The technology was explained in detail in a large-scale advertising campaign. jordan 4 shimmer The Nike Air Max television commercial featured The Beatles' song "Revolution". Twenty-nine years later, this is still the only time a track by the legendary Liverpool band has been used on television in a commercial. An innovation invented by Nike is a special capsule made of durable polymer material located in the sole of the sneaker and containing highly compressed air. The main purpose of this innovation is to absorb shock loads during the contact of the foot with the support when running or jumping. A distinctive highlight of this particular model is the ability to see the air capsule for yourself. The use of transparent material adds charm to the sneakers, making them unique. The evolution of Nike Air Max technology from 1987 to the present day.
