  1. History of vespa bike Vespa bike are known for their painted, pressed steel unibody, which incorporates a full engine cowling (enclosing the engine mechanism and concealing dirt or grease), a flat floorboard (providing protection for the foot) and a conspicuous front coating (providing protection for the wind) in a single structural unit.

  2. Product The basic proprietary design allowed the deployment of a set of features on the spar-frame that would later allow new versions to be rapidly produced. A rear pillion seat for a passenger or, optionally, a storage compartment was provided for the original Vespa. A flat piece of aero metal was the original front security "cover"; later, this evolved into a twin skin to provide extra storage behind the front cover, equivalent to the glove compartment of a vehicle.

  3. Desgin In 1944, a motorcycle with bodywork completely enclosing the drivetrain and creating a tall splash guard at the front was designed by Piaggio engineers RenzoSpolti and VittorioCasini. The concept featured handlebar-mounted levers, forced air ventilation, small-diameter spokes, and a tall centre portion that had to be straddled in addition to the bodywork. "The project was formally known as the MP5" (Moto Piaggio no. 5), "and was called" Paperino "(in Italian, either" duckling "or" Donald Duck).
