  1. IEC 60335-2-23 Clarification for Symbol Color Requirement 61(Busan/JPNC)61 1 【Issue】 In IEC 60335-2-23 6th Ed. (2016), the symbols specified in Section 7.6 is shown in color, but it is unclear whether the color is part of the requirement or not (No color requirement for Waning sentence) In the previous edition (5th Ed.), Color is not required as follows. Marking embossed on body (mounding) should be allowed. In addition, as for sticker or printing, the symbol with contrasting Background is sufficient for visibility. 5th edition is based on the idea. 【JP Proposal 】 In order to clarify that the color is not a part of requirement, the underlined parts should be added as follows. Portable hairdryers, curling irons and similar appliances shall be marked with symbol ISO 7010-P026 (2011-05) except for the specified colors, or with the substance of the following: WARNING: Do not use this appliance near water.
