The Plight of Nepali Children in Numbers • More than a third of Child-Population lives below the poverty line. • 50% Suffer from Malnutrition. • 10% do not attend school at all. • More than 50% defecate in open spaces. • Nearly 70% are deprived of deprived of at least one of these seven basic human needs: shelter, sanitation, water, information, food, education and health.

  2. IT GETS WORSE FOR THOSE BORN IN RURAL AREAS

  3. In Numbers: Children in Rural Nepal • Child Poverty is 3 times higher in rural households than urban households. • 41% of rural children are underweight. • 50% of rural children are stunted (low height for age)
