  2. Subject-Verb Agreement (2a) A verb should always agree with its subject in number. Singular subjects take singular verbs. Plural subjects take plural verbs.

  3. Subject-Verb Agreement (2a) Singular Plural She searches for Mme. Forestier’s necklace. Miss Lottie’s flower garden was destroyed. They search for Mme. Forestier’s necklace. Miss Lottie’s marigolds were destroyed.
