  1. Prepared by: Mazlin Mohamed Mokhtar English Language Lecturer, Ungku Omar Polytechnic, Ipoh

  2. Lesson Learning Outcome (LLO) • Use appropriate descriptors of trends, movements, and distribution patterns to analytically describe the information in graphs and charts • Recognize sentence structures used in describing trends, movements and distribution patterns in graphs and charts

  3. Let’s watch some videos! • M&M Video 1.flv • M&M Video 2.flv • M&M Video 3.flv

  4. GUESS? • Do bags of equal weight have an identical number of candies? • Are all coloursrepresented equally, or are some more popular than others? • Does colourdistribution remain constant, no matter in which packets?

  5. What is the result? • Are some coloursmore numerous? • Do all bags have the same number of candies? • Compare your observations with the findings of students in other groups. Are the same coloursmore numerous from one group to another?

  6. Reflective Questions • Were you able to use appropriate descriptors of trends, movements, and distribution patterns to analytically describe the information in graphs and charts. Examples? • Were you able to recognise sentence structures used in describing trends, movements and distribution patterns in graphs and charts?

  7. Further practice & reference • Think of other analysis that your group would like to do, e.g. favourite movies of DIP5A, famous handphones brand of Semester 5 students of PUO, etc. • Go through MS Word and try to come up with your own graph based on the data that you will gather later. • Go through this websitehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgzmIW6uauwas a guideline (i.e. Bar Graphs in PowerPoint – Best Practices)

  8. That’s all for today! THANK YOU….
