Hibbing Transit Study Objective Determine how to make the City’s existing service as efficient as possible. Study Focus Areas: • Operation and Route Schedule • Fare Rate Structure • Pilot Service to County Estate • Form a Hibbing Transit Advisory Committee
International Falls Bike/Ped Plan Objective Develop a plan for the City’s bicycle route and sidewalk network with key destinations and connections identified.
Planning Process • Existing pedestrian facility exhibits breaks and safety concerns • Inventoried all City sidewalks • Received public input • Recommendations include • Completing the existing pedestrian facility • Maintenance and clear sidewalks • Ensuring intersections are safe and accessible for all pedestrians
Babbitt Objective Evaluate Babbitt’s local and regional transportation issues and develop a set of goals and action steps within the framework of a Comprehensive Plan.
Babbitt Comprehensive Plan – Transportation Component • Develop a Capital Improvements Plan with a Transportation Component • Connect planned neighborhoods to walking and biking trails • Plan for long term maintenance and expansion of walking and biking trails • Maintain quality street and sidewalks in existing neighborhoods • Work with County to develop safe, efficient connections to Babbitt (CR 70/Scott Rd/New Tomahawk Rd) • Plan industrial and commercial areas with access to main routes (CR 70/Hwy 21) to avoid residential areas
Floodwood Wayside Study • Unique joint agreement – building owned by City, property owned by Mn/DOT • Reviewed permit/agreement between City and Mn/DOT • Reviewed revenues and expenditures • Site visit • Identified trails, history, activities • Recommendations for other sources of revenue, marketing, tourism
