  2. Introduction • George Washington was the first president of the United States. He had a sad childhood but he went on to be president.

  3. Childhood • George Washington had a sad childhood. George Washington was born February 22 in Virginia. His mom died when he was only 11 years old. He liked to go outside and ride horses. He was good at math.

  4. Family • George Washington was very wealthy. He did not get good support from his family. George and Martha were 27 when they got married. They only knew each other for a few weeks. Martha had 2 kids from a previous marriage.

  5. Major accomplishment • George Washington was the first president. He led the American victory over Britain in American Revolution.

  6. President • George Washington was voted at the convention to be president. Everyone in the convention wanted him to be president. He was inaugurated on April 30, 1789 in New York. He did a really good job and got elected again.

  7. Conclusion • George Washington is a great person. He led the fight against Britain to make our country. I hope you all like him for what he has done for us.
