Noise pollution, particularly above 60 Ldn dB(A), adversely impacts citizen well-being and health. In recognition of this, the European Union introduced a Directive in 2002 aimed at improving the management and assessment of environmental noise to safeguard public health. This directive outlines corrective measures for various noise sources, including motor vehicles and outdoor equipment, and promotes a comprehensive approach to noise management at community airports.
