  1. Witch-Hunt By: Marc Aronson Power Point By: Kevin Donaldson Pd 1 March 19th 2013

  2. Why Witch-Hunt? I decided to read witch-Hunt because I had a little knowledge on the subject. After watching movies like season of the witch I wanted to learn more about the Salem witch trails.

  3. Facts I knew • I knew that most of the accused witches where outsiders. • I also knew that they hung most of the accused instead of burning them like in England. • And I knew that the trails where around the late 1600s.

  4. Fact 1 • That on of the first witches accused in the Salem witch trials was an older Celtic women named “Goodie” Glover.

  5. Fact 2 • That Goodie could did not pass the test of saying the lord’s prayer, she mumbled the whole thing. Some thought this proved her as a witch while she blamed it on her accent.

  6. Fact 3 • Inside the walls of Goodies home hidden away were multiple puppets that were believed to be a tool to hurt children. ( Like a voodoo doll)

  7. Fact 4 • A slave named Tituba confessed of being a witch and was sentenced to life in prison.

  8. Fact 5 • Tituba’s story she told the court was used again and again in telling about familiars and this darkman.

  9. Most interesting • That at one point during the trials a priest was hung for being a witch. This was this was who they claimed was the dark man.

  10. Review • This was a very good book. It told an accurate retelling of the trials and put it in an understandable way. It was very easy to get a mental picture of what the trials were like. I recommend it to anyone who wants to learn more about the trials.

  11. Significance • There is one major importance of the trials. It was an example of how Puritan government would work. This example of there thinking is why we don’t have a government based on there culture today. If it didn’t play out like this the trials could still be going on right now.
