HOW IT ALL STARTED ★In 1987,Innscor Africa Limited opened its first Chicken Inn outlet at Speke Avenue in Harare. ★Founded by Zed Koudounaris and Derrick Fowler, Chicken Inn has since become the biggest fast food business in the country.
OUR HISTORY ★In 1998, Innscor listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE), utilising the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) business to spread its footprint into Africa as a diverse Pan-African operation. ★In the process, QSR outlets were opened in Zambia, Kenya and Swaziland.
OUR HISTORY ★Since then, the QSR business has grown to own and franchise outlets all across Africa. ★Simbisa Brands has outlets in Zimbabwe, Zambia, Kenya, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Malawi, Namibia, Mauritius and Swaziland.
5 August 2015 1 October 2015 6 November 2015 UNBUNDLING Simbisa was incorporated as a wholly owned subsidiary of Innscor. Simbisa listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE). Simbisa acquired, through a scheme of reconstruction, all the assets and liabilities of the QSR Business from Innscor.
Our Success Path ★The major factor contributing to the success of the company is the strategy and well thought out location of its outlets. ★Simbisa stores are found along busy track routes, on major highways, in central business districts, in urban areas as well as food courts. ★All these locations ensure consistent access to large volumes of customers. ★Think about all the customers travelling to Beitbridge, Plumtree or Chirundu. Or the tourists visiting Victoria Falls, Chinhoyi Caves or the Eastern Highlands.
OUR BRANDS ★Simbisa is unique in that it not only owns the Intellectual Property Rights of the brands within its portfolio, but also owner-operates the outlets of the QSR brands. ★Simbisa owns the master license to other successful brands such as Galito’sAfrica, Nando’s, Steers, Rocomamas, Ocean Basket, Vida E Caffe, Spur and Grill Shack.
OUR BRANDS ★The license for Nando’s, Steers, Ocean Basket and Spur is for Zimbabwe only, Rocomamas is for Zimbabwe, Zambia and Ghana, Vida E Caffe is for Zambia, Mauritius and Ghana and lastly Grill Shack for Kenya.
