  6. Summer Internship is Extremely Important. Top firms recruit in September - November for the following summer. Pull out all stops: Family Contacts. Business Contacts. Don’t delay major course work. (Take 2 or 3 electives in Fall of Senior Year). Better prepared for interviews Thoughts

  7. Consider the Master’s in Finance. Especially if you would like to get into more quantitative fields of finance. It will never be as easy to do graduate work. Join FMA (!) Act Professionally. Treat all interactions like a job interview. Read Finance Publications Wall Street Journal. Institutional Investor. Thoughts

  8. An important part of finance is storytelling. The first story you have is yourself. Demonstrate strategic planning by tying the choices you make with your career goals. The more defined your goals, the better. Manage

  12. BNAD314R Registration • BNAD314R will NOT be on the schedule until Winter break. It will be on Tuesday and Thursday. • Please keep these times open on your schedule. • There are 3 themes of BNAD 314R offered, please state your preference on the handout and turn in before you leave. We will try to accommodate students’ preference where possible.

What to expect in an advising appointment... • Review of remaining requirements and sequencing of these courses (always bring a current print out of your Advisement Report) • Bring a Cover Letter / Resume for Review • Discuss and provide advice and other resources for your career goals and your search for career- related experience • Completion of Career Profile on eSMS • Get to know your major advisor and let them get to know you.

  14. Important Reminders Regarding Your Admission • Finish Strong! Passing foundation courses is a requirement to retain admission • Pass your Skills Assessment Test • Winter Session Registration: Nov 15 • Registration should be on your schedule by Friday, October 22nd unless … • You had a registration hold as of Oct 18th • You were not yet admitted to the UA as of Oct 18th • Did not register for Campus Interviewing by Oct 18th • BNAD 314R will not show up until after the end of the Fall semester

  15. Student Advisement Report • It will look different than you old SAPR! • Check remaining general education requirements or unit requirements you may have left • Questions??? Schedule an academic advising appointment (no rush to do this ASAP since you will be automatically registered for Spring)

  18. eSMS Career Profile This profile information will allow us to: • Send you targeted correspondence on special employer, alumni, and event connections • Strategize for employer outreach in order to let employers know that our students are keyed into their industry • Update you on the latest internship and full time job search information in your industry of choice

Campus Interviewing Registration • You should all be registered at this point in time • If not, please see me at the end of the meeting • Steps to Register for Campus Interviewing • Login to Wildcat Joblink and verify your user profile. • Upload at least one resume into the Wildcat Joblink system. • Complete the Online Orientation for Premium Access. • Activate your account by logging back on to Wildcat Joblink

Are there any Costs? • For students searching for internships and part-time positions, registration is FREE • Students wanting to search apply for full-time positions, there is a one-time fee of $25 for Campus Interviewing • Typically, this happens when students are within 2 semesters (Fall/Spring semesters) of graduation • The fee is collected when you return to Career Services for account activation

Important Reminders • Keep your profile updated • Update your resume on your profile • Can look for internships, part-time jobs, on-campus jobs, work study positions NOW! • Must pay the $25 registration fee when you want to utilize the full-time job search option (available for 2 concurrent semesters)
